Today Nicole will be talking about the importance of avoiding anti-bacterial products as we head back to school and into the fall.
We’ve all used those rubber clip-on hand sanitizers for our kid’s backpacks and might have gone through disinfectant wipes like it was our job. Focused on keeping everyone safe from harmful bacteria and germs, it’s easy to miss the fact that we’re stripping our skin’s microbiome and exposing ourselves and our family to some pretty nasty ingredients. But we cannot change the past, and we are all a work in progress, right?
We’re going to dig into information about why our skin’s microbiome is important and how to keep it healthy. Nicole also reviews harmful ingredients in antibacterial products and why we should be avoiding them. They include:
- ammonium quaternary compounds better known as (QUATS)
We’ll review the warning labels on antibacterial wipes and provide a safer alternative while learning the best method for cleaning hands and surfaces and talking about the risks associated with using antibacterial products.
